The Dialogue Between Ancestral Indigenous Medicines and Other Medical Systems

Full Details

In this session, we explore how different Indigenous medicine systems understand health, illness, diagnosis, and treatment — examining the core concepts that underpin ayahuasca traditions, as well as their similarities and differences. Additionally, we will reflect on: what is healing? How can we move toward global health from a symmetrical place, in which medical systems mutually complement one another? We examine the role of decolonization in reinterpreting health (mental, physical, spiritual) through intercultural approaches, seeking systems of care rooted in reciprocity, cultural rights, and epistemological pluralism.
